The insurance for photographers market is growing. The main reason for this is the number of people who are taking up photography as a hobby and realising that the equipment they have brought is worth quite a bit of money. They realise that should they lose some of that equipment, drop it or it should be stolen they would not be able to afford to easily replace it. This is leading them to buy specialist insurance for their camera and other related equipment. However, there is another form of photography insurance amateur photographers are waking up to the fact that they need.
Public Liability Insurance for Photographers
Even amateur photographers regularly come in contact with members of the public when taking photographs. A surprising number of accidents happen because the photographer is concentrating on taking the photograph rather than what is happening around them. This means that amateur photographers just like professional photographers run the risk of injuring a member of the public whilst taking photographs. As a precaution many amateur photographers are taking out public liability insurance, albeit in a limited form. Should they have an accident or break something whilst pursuing their hobby there will not be liable for any damages.
